Original Floral Art: Finding Beauty in What Others Overlook

Original Floral Art: Finding Beauty in What Others Overlook

As an artist, I’ve always been drawn to the quiet moments — the ones that most people miss or pass by. This mixed media floral painting is part of that journey.

It was inspired by a bunch of flowers, long past their prime. The kind most people would throw away.

But just before they were gone completely, I saw something that stopped me: muted colours, layered petals, delicate textures. There was a kind of raw, honest beauty in the way they were falling apart — not perfect, but full of character. That’s the moment I wanted to capture.

This original floral artwork is about finding beauty in imperfection. It’s about slowing down and noticing the details most people miss. As a British artist inspired by nature, this is the kind of subject that constantly pulls me back in — again and again.

Sharing art like this always feels a little vulnerable.
Because what if no one else sees it?
What if no one else feels it?

But over the years, I’ve come to realise that art is meant to be shared — especially the kind that shows the world from a different perspective. That’s what I try to do with every piece I create: help people see the world a little differently, and maybe find a bit of peace or emotion in the process.

This piece is part of my ongoing series of floral mixed media works, created using layers of paint, printmaking, and texture techniques I’ve developed over time. Each piece is one-of-a-kind — a story told through marks, movement, and colour.

If you’re looking for original art for your home — something that brings depth, meaning, and beauty into your space — I’d love for you to consider this work.

It’s available now in my shop.
